Hurghada Excursions review: what hurghada-excursions.com sells and what to check first

Hurghada Excursions is a local agency trading as GTT Travel & Tourism: low prices for the standard boat days, booked by WhatsApp or phone, with no published terms. Fine if you get everything confirmed in writing; a platform listing gives you more protection for the same money.

Hurghada Excursions is worth a look for its prices, which sit at the low end of platform prices for the standard island and Dolphin House days, but it tells you too little before you pay. The name itself causes confusion: "Hurghada Excursions" is a generic phrase that several unrelated sites use. This review is about hurghada-excursions.com, whose About page names the company as GTT Travel & Tourism, with an office in the Al Kawathar district of Hurghada.

Who Hurghada Excursions are

The site says the business was founded in 2011 in Cairo "by four friends", and gives an office in Al Kawathar, Hurghada. It says several languages are available, but does not list them. There is no fleet on the site, and no boat names: like most Hurghada agencies, it books you onto boats run by someone else, and the page does not say whose.

The name trap: three different "Hurghada Excursions"

  • hurghada-excursions.com (with a hyphen): the agency reviewed here, GTT Travel & Tourism.
  • hurghadaexcursions.net: a different site, "Egypt Hurghada Excursions", with a Hurghada address and also a Miami contact address, and package text that reads like a template. We would not book through it.
  • Hurghada Lovers, whose own About page also calls the business "Hurghada Excursions". It is a separate pay-on-the-day agency; see our Hurghada Lovers review.

If someone on WhatsApp says they are "Hurghada Excursions", ask for the website and check that it is the one you mean.

What they sell

The sea-trip page lists the standard Hurghada boat days, each of about 8 hours:

  • Orange Bay Island Tour, from $27, with hotel pick-up between 07:45 and 08:15 depending on how far your hotel is from the marina. Orange Bay is a beach on the west shore of Giftun Kebir; see Orange Bay.
  • Dolphin House Tour, from $27. Dolphin House is Sha'ab El Erg, about 1.5 hours north of the marina by day boat, and dolphins are never guaranteed; see Dolphin House.
  • Paradise Island snorkeling trip, from $32, with hotel pick-up, harbour transfer and snorkel gear. Paradise is a beach on the southern tip of Giftun Kebir (Paradise Island).
  • Private speedboat, from $51 for about 4 hours. The page does not say whether that is per person or per boat; ask, and compare with private boats.

The homepage adds a semi-submarine from $17, scuba trips from $33 and parasailing from $20.

Hurghada Excursions prices compared

The site does not sell on GetYourGuide, Headout or Tiqets under its own name, so the listings below are comparable trips, not Hurghada Excursions' own:

  • Orange Bay: $27 direct, against Zanetta's Orange Bay trip from $26.35 on GetYourGuide. Practically the same price; the GetYourGuide listing comes with published inclusions and a cancellation window.
  • Dolphin House: $27 direct, against a Dolphin House yacht day from $39.24 on GetYourGuide, where the listing does not name the boat company. That is a real saving on this listing, but a few platform Dolphin House days start lower, so compare inclusions rather than headline prices.
  • Semi-submarine: $17 direct, against the Royal Seascope semi-submarine from $21.60 on GetYourGuide. The site does not say which semi-submarine it books.

Prices checked on 20 October 2026

What the prices leave out matters as much. The Giftun park fee is USD 5 per foreign visitor, and sellers often ask about €5 in cash if it is not included. Dolphin House lies in the Erg and Fanous zones, where the EEAA lists a fee of USD 10 per foreign visitor. Hurghada Excursions does not say whether either fee, lunch or soft drinks are in the price, so ask for each one by name.

Hurghada Excursions reviews: what to check

We found no review themes for this agency that we could rely on. Before you book, check recent reviews of hurghada-excursions.com itself, not of the generic name, and ask:

  • the name of the boat and of the company that runs it;
  • how many guests the boat takes and how many snorkel guides come along (the CDWS rule is one guide per 12 snorkelers);
  • whether the park fee, lunch and drinks are included;
  • what happens if the port closes for wind: a new date or your money back.

How to book Hurghada Excursions

There is no online checkout: you book through WhatsApp, Messenger or phone from hurghada-excursions.com. Get the price, the inclusions and the cancellation rule in a written message, and ask for a receipt when you pay. The UK Foreign Office advises booking through your resort or approved agents and asking the crew for a safety briefing (FCDO safety advice).

Because the boats are not named, you cannot look them up yourself. You can, however, check any snorkel or dive centre that the agency names in the CDWS member directory and make sure the seller is not on the CDWS black list.

On a GetYourGuide booking the default is free cancellation up to 24 hours before unless the listing says otherwise, and if the boat company cancels for weather you are offered a new date or a full refund. With a direct cash booking you have to chase the seller yourself.

Alternatives

  • Same budget, published terms: Zanetta's Orange Bay day, about 2 hours on the beach and island fees covered (Zanetta Tours review).
  • Pay on the day: Hurghada Lovers, €25 in cash to the guide, free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
  • Online agency: Egypt Excursions Online, card payment but strict refunds.
  • Hotel desk: TUI's Mahmya-Giftun cruise from £41, plus an environmental fee of about €5 in cash (hotel excursion desks).

Are Hurghada Excursions reviews good?

We found no review themes for hurghada-excursions.com that we could rely on. Check recent reviews of that exact site, not of the generic name, and ask which boat runs your trip.

Is hurghada-excursions.com the same as hurghadaexcursions.net?

No. hurghada-excursions.com is GTT Travel & Tourism in Al Kawathar, Hurghada. hurghadaexcursions.net is a different site with a Miami contact address that we would not use. Hurghada Lovers also calls itself "Hurghada Excursions" on its About page, and is a third business.

How much are Hurghada Excursions prices?

Orange Bay and Dolphin House from $27, Paradise from $32, a private speedboat from $51 (per person or per boat is not stated), a semi-submarine from $17. Ask whether the park fee and lunch are included.

Can I book the Sindbad Submarine with Hurghada Excursions?

No. The listing on its site is out of date: the Sindbad submarine sank in a fatal accident and no restart has been announced. Book a semi-submarine instead.

What is the Hurghada Excursions cancellation policy?

It is not published. Ask for it in writing before you pay, including what happens if the port closes for wind.
