Privacy policy

We collect as little as a website can. No accounts, no analytics, no newsletter, no tracking pixels — only the access logs every web server keeps, and the booking calendars you can switch to load only on click.

This policy explains what personal data hurghadasnorkeling.guide handles when you read the site, open a booking calendar, follow a link to a booking platform or write to us. It is short because we collect very little.

Who is responsible

hurghadasnorkeling.guide is an independent editorial guide to snorkeling trips in Hurghada. It is not the website of any boat operator, dive centre, beach club, hotel, the Red Sea protectorates or any Egyptian authority.

The site is run by [OWNER: legal name and address], who is responsible for the processing described here. You can reach us by email only, at info@hurghadasnorkeling.guide. We do not publish a phone number or a street address for visitors.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts. You cannot register or log in, so we hold no profiles or passwords.
  • No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising tracker, and we do not build visitor statistics from your browsing.
  • No newsletter and no forms. The site has no sign-up, comment or contact form.
  • No sale of data. We have no visitor data to sell, and we would not sell it if we had.

Server access logs

Like every web server, ours keeps standard access logs. Each request for a page or file records:

  • the IP address of the device making the request;
  • the date and time;
  • the page or file requested and whether it was delivered;
  • the referring page, if your browser sends it;
  • the browser and operating system string your browser sends.

We use these logs only to keep the site working and secure — for example to find broken links, spot errors and block abusive traffic. We do not combine them with other data, we do not use them to identify or profile visitors, and they are kept only for a limited time. Our basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Booking calendars from GetYourGuide and Tiqets

Many pages show a live date calendar for a trip. These calendars are third-party code supplied by GetYourGuide and Tiqets. When a calendar loads, your browser connects to that company's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details and may set their own cookies. Their privacy policies apply to that data, not ours.

You choose how the calendars behave. By default, and with "Load automatically", a calendar loads as you scroll towards it. With "Only on click", nothing is fetched from GetYourGuide or Tiqets until you click the calendar itself. You can change the setting at any time with the "Calendar settings" link at the foot of every page. Your choice is stored in your own browser, not sent to us; the details are in our cookie policy.

The site earns affiliate commission from GetYourGuide, Headout and Tiqets. Booking links are marked as sponsored and go straight to the partner's site, carrying our partner identifier so the platform can credit the booking to us. The price you pay is the same as when you go to the platform directly.

Once you click through, you are on the partner's website. Whatever you enter there — your name, email, payment details, hotel for the pick-up — goes to that platform and, through it, to the local boat company that runs the trip. We never see it. GetYourGuide, Headout and Tiqets each have their own privacy policy, and you should read it before booking. The same applies to links to operator websites, official sources and map services such as Google Maps: their policies apply once you leave our site.

Maps, fonts and images

The coastal charts are drawn from map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), and are served from our own server; no map tiles are loaded from third parties while you read. Fonts are self-hosted, so no request goes to a font service. Trip photos on the product cards are stored on and served from our server.

If you email us

If you write to info@hurghadasnorkeling.guide, we receive your email address, your name if you include it and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to any list and we do not pass your message to operators or platforms unless you ask us to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation — you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy. In practice the only personal data we could hold about you is an email you sent us or an IP address in a server log. Write to info@hurghadasnorkeling.guide and we will answer.

You also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority in your country.

Changes to this policy
