Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies you may meet here come from the GetYourGuide and Tiqets booking calendars, and you decide whether those load automatically or only when you click.

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. They are used for logins, shopping baskets, analytics and advertising. This guide needs none of that, so it sets none. This page explains the one thing we do store in your browser and the cookies third parties may set.

Cookies set by hurghadasnorkeling.guide

None. We have no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no social-media buttons, so there is nothing for a cookie of ours to do. Fonts, images and the coastal charts are served from our own server and do not set cookies.

The one setting we store: your calendar choice

By default the booking calendars load automatically. The "Calendar settings" link at the foot of every page opens a small panel where you choose how they behave:

Button What happens Stored value
Load automatically Calendars from GetYourGuide and Tiqets load as you scroll towards them hs-cc = 1
Only on click Nothing loads from GetYourGuide or Tiqets until you click a calendar hs-cc = 0

The choice is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key hs-cc. Strictly speaking this is not a cookie: it is never sent to our server or to anyone else, it contains only that one digit, and it exists purely so your choice applies on every page. If you clear your browser's site data, the setting disappears and the calendars load automatically again.

You can change your mind at any time with the same link.

Cookies set by the booking calendars

Many pages carry a live date calendar for a trip, supplied by GetYourGuide or Tiqets. When a calendar loads, it runs that company's code in your browser. That code may set its own cookies or similar identifiers — for example to remember your currency, show availability or attribute a booking to the site that sent you. Which cookies they set, and for how long, is decided by GetYourGuide and Tiqets and described in their own cookie and privacy policies, not by us.

If you prefer that no third-party code runs until you want it, choose "Only on click". The page then shows a placeholder with a button, and the calendar loads only if you click it.

Cookies on partner sites

Booking links on this site are marked as sponsored and take you straight to GetYourGuide, Headout or Tiqets. Once you are on their website, their cookies and policies apply. The link carries our partner identifier so that the platform can pay us a commission if you book; the price you pay is the same.

Links to operator websites, official sources such as the Red Sea protectorates, HEPCA or the UK Foreign Office, and map links that open Google Maps work the same way: you leave our site, and that site's own rules apply.

How to control cookies in your browser

Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under "Privacy" or "Site settings". Blocking third-party cookies will not break this site; at worst a booking calendar may not work, and the booking links still take you to the listing on the partner's site.
