Easy Divers Red Sea no longer trades in Hurghada. Its website lapsed, it is missing from the official dive-centre directory, and its old base at the Hilton Plaza now houses a different centre. Here is how to check any dive centre, and what to book instead.

Easy Divers Hurghada was a PADI dive centre at the Hilton Plaza hotel, and for anyone planning a dive or snorkel day now, the verdict is simple: it is effectively closed, so do not try to book it. Its domain expired in 2022 and now carries an unrelated blog, and the official directory of licensed dive centres lists no Easy Divers in Hurghada. If an old forum post or guidebook sent you here, this page explains what the company was, how to tell whether any dive centre is licensed, and which comparable trips you can book today.

What still helps

  • The Hilton Plaza still has a CDWS-listed dive centre, under another name
  • Every licensed centre can be checked in the public CDWS directory
  • Comparable try dives and snorkel days are easy to book on the platforms

Why not to book under this name

  • The centre has effectively closed and cannot be contacted
  • The old domain is now unrelated, so its links lead nowhere useful
  • A different "Easy Divers International" exists in Sharm El Sheikh: not the same business

Who Easy Divers were

Easy Divers Red Sea was a PADI centre in Hurghada. An archived copy of its old homepage says it had moved into the Hilton Plaza hotel, with a purpose-built centre near the marina its boats left from, air-conditioned classrooms, a shop, showers and nitrox filling. An older diver-directory entry, written by users, suggests it had earlier traded as Oxygen Divers.

By October 2022 the domain easydivers-redsea.com showed an "expired, may be available at auction" page. Today the address carries an Arabic-language blog about property and cleaning, with no diving content at all. We do not link to it.

Is Easy Divers still operating?

No, as far as anything public shows. The Chamber of Diving and Water Sports (CDWS), the body that licenses dive and snorkel centres in Egypt, publishes a member directory by town and hotel. It lists no Easy Divers in Hurghada. The closest name in the directory is "Easy Divers International" at a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, a different business in Sinai.

The Hilton Plaza slot that Easy Divers used to hold now belongs to a centre the CDWS lists as Dive More & Ohanaa. We have not reviewed it; if you are staying at the hotel, ask at the centre directly and check its entry in the directory.

If someone offers you an "Easy Divers" trip on the beach, on WhatsApp or on social media, ask for the company's CDWS membership and look it up before you pay. The CDWS also publishes a black list of companies and websites that are not operating legally, including Facebook pages, Instagram and TikTok sellers and private-boat sites around Hurghada.

How to check a dive centre in Hurghada

This is the step that matters far more than any review. It takes five minutes:

Checking a Hurghada dive or snorkel centre before you pay

  1. Search the centre's name or hotel in the CDWS diving-centre directory (https://www.cdws.travel/members/diving-centers) or, for snorkel boats, the water-sports directory (https://www.cdws.travel/members/water-sports-centers).
  2. Make sure the name and website are not on the CDWS black list (https://www.cdws.travel/blacklist).
  3. Ask how many students each instructor takes: from a boat, CDWS rules allow one instructor per intro diver (1:1).
  4. Fill in the medical questionnaire honestly. Asthma, heart conditions, recent surgery or pregnancy need a doctor's sign-off.
  5. Check your travel insurance covers diving and sea or air rescue.
  6. Get a written receipt that names the company.

UK travel advice says safety standards of Red Sea diving operators and boats vary considerably, and suggests booking through your resort or approved agents and asking the crew for a full safety briefing before departure (FCDO).

What a try dive in Hurghada costs

Since Easy Divers sells nothing, the useful question is what a comparable first dive costs elsewhere. Prices vary widely because the products differ:

Seller What you get Price
Colona Divers (own site) PADI Discover Scuba Diving, 2 dives €90
James & Mac (own site) Try dive with a personal instructor (1:1) €85
Blue Paradise (own site) Try dive to a maximum of 5 m with a personal instructor €60–66
GetYourGuide snorkel yachts Snorkel day with an optional intro dive From about $30–52

The cheap platform days are usually a short intro dive from a snorkel boat, not a full PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme; one sunset listing describes its dive as 10–15 minutes. That can be a fine taster, but ask how long you will be underwater, how deep, and whether the instructor stays with you alone.

Lowest price per person in US dollars, checked on 20 October 2026. Boat, island, lunch, pick-up area and what is included differ between listings: open each one before you pay.

Today Headout lists a beginners' scuba day from $38 and GetYourGuide's most-reviewed intro dive starts from $52. These two listings do not name the dive company, and they are not Easy Divers. Compare the number of dives, the depth limit and whether lunch and pick-up are included. The try-dive guide covers the rules, the age limits and the flying-after-diving times.

What travellers say

There are no current reviews to report: the centre has not traded under this name for years. Older reviews on diver directories describe a different era and cannot tell you anything about a trip you book today. Judge any centre by what you can verify now: its CDWS listing, a written price list that names the reef or park tax, the instructor ratio, and how clearly it explains the medical form.

How to book a comparable dive or snorkel day

You cannot book Easy Divers, so our pick is a comparable trip run by another company. Hurghada: Snorkeling or Try Dive Luxury Yacht Trip is a small-group yacht day with either snorkeling or a 1:1 try dive, from $44 per person; the listing does not name the boat company.

Prices checked on 20 October 2026

All four listings above are comparable trips by other companies, not Easy Divers. GetYourGuide's default is free cancellation up to 24 hours before, unless the listing says otherwise; read the terms before you book. Our platforms guide explains how refunds work if the port closes.

Alternatives: dive centres in Hurghada you can check

These centres are operating and publish their own prices; each has its own review:

  • Colona Divers: PADI 5 Star IDC centre on Zahabia Beach with a house reef from about 1 m, snorkel boat days at €28 with lunch plus €5 reef tax.
  • James & Mac: German-speaking centre at the Giftun Azur Resort, listed by the CDWS under the company name Barakuda.
  • Blue Paradise: centre on the Corniche with a try dive to 5 m with a personal instructor.
  • Divers' Lodge: still in the CDWS directory, but its website is down; contact the hotel first.

Emperor Divers, another name in older guides, no longer has a day centre in Hurghada. For the whole picture of who sells what in Hurghada, see our operators directory.

Easy Divers Hurghada: questions

Is Easy Divers Hurghada still open?

No, as far as public records show. Its website domain expired in 2022 and now hosts an unrelated blog, and the CDWS directory of licensed dive centres lists no Easy Divers in Hurghada.

Where can I read Easy Divers Hurghada reviews?

Only old ones survive on diver directories, and they describe a centre that no longer trades. For a dive this week, check a centre's CDWS listing and its written price list instead of old reviews.

Is Easy Divers International in Sharm El Sheikh the same company?

No. It is a separate business at a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, in Sinai, listed separately by the CDWS.

What dive centre is at the Hilton Plaza now?

The CDWS lists a centre called Dive More & Ohanaa at the Hilton Plaza. Ask at the hotel and check its directory entry before you book.

Is diving in Egypt safe?

Diving in Hurghada is a licensed activity: centres must belong to the CDWS, which sets instructor ratios such as one instructor per intro diver from a boat. Standards still vary between operators, so check the directory, complete the medical form honestly and make sure your insurance covers diving and rescue.
